Mood Disorders Program
The Mood Disorders Program at Rhode Island Hospital
was established in 1984 to evaluate and treat mood disorders such
as major depression, chronic major depression and bipolar disorder.
This program is affiliated with Brown University and conducts
studies sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health,
private foundations, pharmaceutical companies, the department
of psychiatry at Brown University, and the National Alliance of
Research on Schizophrenia and Depression. The program also provides
assessment of family functioning.
Treatments include:
- Pharmacotherapy
- Individual psychotherapy
- Family Treatment
- Group Therapy
- Multifamily psychoeducational group therapy
