Physical and Occupational Therapy
Golf Therapy Program
The program works with golfers to keep those who are well healthy and to help
those with injuries recover.
The program, led by Gregory Kelley, PT, ATC, is geared toward golfers who are
not making ideal swings because of past injuries or muscle weaknesses, and as a
result are putting undo pressure on other joints or muscles. In most cases, it
only takes a few simple exercises to strengthen those muscles and improve a
golfer's control, both over the ball and over his/her health.
An individualized program is developed by integrating information from a
basic physical therapy evaluation and video swing analysis. The therapist and
patient will set goals based on flexibility, strength building, movement
learning and golf skill concepts.
The program also features video swing analysis, which allows the therapist to
record the patient's swing and analyze it, show the exercises necessary to
correct improper posture and then record the patient's improvement, all on the
same tape.
