The pulmonary function laboratory performs diagnostic tests to detect lung disorders.
Our Services
Our services include:
- Pulmonary function testing
- A simple breathing test in which a patient is asked to perform
a series of deep breaths. The volume of these breaths is measured
and compared to normal levels.
- Bronchoscopy
- A procedure performed by a physician to visualize the interior of the lungs. Patients receive sedation to make the procedure comfortable.
Our Staff
The six members of the pulmonary function department are Rhode Island licensed respiratory therapists. They are specialists in diagnostic testing for lung disorders. The team also assists pulmonary physicians with invasive procedures that involve the visualization of the lung interior.
