The division of hematology is committed to providing high quality
diagnostic services in all major areas of adult and pediatric
hematology and hematopathology. The division provides consultation
services with rapid turnaround times and autofaxing of reports.
We offer:
- Standardized and comprehensive reporting formats with relevant
prognostic data.
- Routine and specialized hematological evaluations.
- Correlative morphological, flow cytometric and molecular
analysis of bone marrow, blood and lymph nodes.
- DNA ploidy studies.
- Hemoglobin electrophoresis and related studies with interpretive
reports correlating red cell morphology and iron studies.
- Red cell membrane studie including: osmotic fragility, EMA
(a rapid flow cytometric measurement of membrane proteins for
diagnosis of hereditary spherocytosis), and PNH studies for
GPI-anchored proteins by flow cytometry.
- Granulocyte associated immunoglobulin for evaluation of neutropenia.
- CD4/CD8 ratios for evaluation of HIV.
