  • Brown University Faculty Development in Pediatrics

  • This program offers educational sessions and resources to pediatric faculty, fellows and residents in both hospital- and community-based settings in Rhode Island. Its purpose is to help develop and enhance clinical teaching and research skills, and to facilitate their application in a variety of clinical settings.

Clinical seminars follow the Stanford faculty development model curriculum (for more information visit http://www.stanford.edu/group/SFDP) and are applicable to teachers and learners at every level of experience. These interactive sessions combine a brief mini-lecture with case presentations and role play to provide both content and practice opportunities. Each session is focused on a linked series of concepts and skills in clinical education.

Topical seminars and workshops address a range of topics of relevance to clinician-educators in current practice and research settings.

Faculty development sessions meet from 6 to 9 p.m. in Hasbro Children's Hospital Conference Room 151 or the Collis Conference Room on scheduled dates. Dinners are provided (these sample the many ethnic cuisines of Providence). It is never too late to join the series, so feel free to come to any session.
