Bradley School, Whiteknact Elementary School, Martin Middle School and East Providence High School host programs for children from preschool through high school with autism, communication disorders and other developmental challenges.
At Martin Middle School, the program is located in a private wing and with a separate entrance. Both Whiteknact and Martin have a sensory room as well as quiet rooms. In addition, Martin offers kitchen and laundry areas. Students have access to all the services that they need while receiving an education in the most inclusive environment.
At the high school level, programming is offered within the Martin Middle School building and at East Providence High School, with location determined by the needs of the student. Students at both sites can participate in inclusion opportunities at East Providence High School and the Career and Technical Center, as determined by their educational teams. Both sites also offer programming to address life, social, and vocational skills.
Bradley staff work collaboratively with East Providence administration and staff at all locations. Each classroom is staffed by a special education certified teacher and a classroom behavior specialist; both are Bradley staff members with degrees in their fields. Other Bradley staff members include a psychologist/team leader, a nurse, a a behavior coordinator and behavior specialist and a speech-language pathologist.
Occupational therapy, physical therapy and social work services are provided by East Providence schools in keeping with students' Individual Education Plans. This team guides the treatment and educational plan for each student.
