HIV/AIDS
Human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV, is the virus that causes
acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Having HIV does not
always mean the person has AIDS. It sometimes takes years for someone
with HIV to develop AIDS.
Symptoms of AIDS
- A fever that won't go away
- Night sweats
- Fatigue
- Weight loss
- Swollen glands
Prevent HIV/AIDS
- Use latex condoms during sex to reduce the risk of transmission
- Never share needles to take drugs
Treatment of HIV/AIDS
- There is no cure for HIV/AIDS
- A Drug regimen consisting of several drugs: HAART,and a highly
active anti-retroviral therapy.
