Current Research Studies
Our current research studies use behavioral techniques, medication
and assessment of family interaction to provide treatment for youths
ages 5 to 17 with OCD. To learn more about a research study, please

- Family Based Treatment of Early Childhood OCD
No psychotherapy treatment studies have been targeted at younger
children with OCD. Researchers at the Bradley/Hasbro's Children's
Research Center believe that children with early-childhood onset
OCD require treatment that actively involves the family. They
are conducting a family-based treatment study for young children
(5 to 8 years old) with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
- Treatment of Pediatric OCD:
Augmentation of Partial Response
The purpose of this study is to find out whether or not a second
treatment (a psychotherapy) added to initial treatment with a
SSRI medication can improve OCD symptoms in children and adolescents
who have not gotten better enough with just the SSRI treatment.
This study looks at how to best treat children and adolescents
with OCD (ages 7 to 17) who have not responded to an adequate
trial of an SSRI.
- Family Processes in Early Childhood OCD
The goal of this project is to look more closely at the role of
the family in young children (7 to 12 years old) with OCD. Researchers
assess differences in parent behaviors and family interactions
between young children with OCD and their parent(s) as compared
to a matched control group and their parent(s).
