Developmental Psychopathology/ Early Childhood

Principal investigators:

The developmental psychopathology laboratory studies the development of children who are at risk for mental illness. The focus is on the first years of life, concentrating on parenting, family processes and children’s social-emotional development.

This includes studies where parents are identified based on history of mental health problems, and children who have risk factors associated with poverty.

A clinical research component includes mental health consultation for area Head Start and Early Head Start programs, including research and program evaluation.
