Researchers in this area aim to understand the origin, development and manifestations of mental or behavioral disorders in adolescents.

Studies include assessing the prevalence of manic symptoms and bipolar disorder among adolescent psychiatric inpatients, researching the prevalence of body dysmorphic disorder in hospitalized adolescents, studying adolescent suicide and investigating the treatment of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) -resistant depression in adolescents.
