Funding Source

Description
The purpose of this project is to assess and follow the course of
bipolar I, bipolar II, and bipolar not otherwise specified disorders
in children and adolescents, 7 to 17 years of age. For a period
of five years, we will assess how patients do and what treatment
they require.
Significance
This project will provide the first comprehensive description of
bipolar illness in a large group of children and adolescents, which
will further our knowledge of this significant and often debilitating
disorder. Information learned may benefit patients and families
impacted by this illness.
