HIV and Heart Disease
Researchers at The Miriam Hospital are studying risk factors for
heart disease in patients with HIV. Healthy volunteers are needed
in order to compare the prevalence of risk factors in the general
population. The study is sponsored by the Center for AIDS Research.
We're looking for:
Men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 who are not infected
with HIV and who are not taking medications for high cholesterol
or diabetes.
What is involved?
A 30-minute visit to The Miriam Hospital for a blood draw and measurement
of blood pressure, height, weight, waist and hip circumference.
If eligible, you may receive:
- A copy of your laboratory results
- An assessment of your risk factors for heart disease
- $10.00 to compensate for your time and transportation
