Fire-Related Injuries
It's estimated that there are 2.4 million burns each year in the
United States, 1 million of which result in substantial disability.
Of these burns, 75,000 require hospitalization and almost one third
of these patients have burns that affect at least 25% of their body
surface. For 8,000 to 12,000 of these patients these injuries are
fatal.
