Elsaid completed his MS and PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Rhode Island in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Prior to his training at University of Rhode Island, where he also earned a MBA in 2002, Elsaid completed a BS in Pharmacy Practice at the Cairo University, School of Pharmacy. He is also a board certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialities.
Elsaid has been working in the Department of Emergency Medicine Research Laboratory since 2004 as a Research Associate studying the role of joint trauma in the catabolism of lubricin and resultant wear effects attributable to its absence. Elsaid is expert in establishing new animal models in hypothesis testing and in the pre-clinical screening of candidate therapeutic compounds and biologics.
