Know the Rules

Remember these important fire safety rules:

Kids, tell an adult if you find matches or lighters.
Matches and lighters should be stored out of reach of children, in a locked cabinet.
Don't play with matches and lighters.
Have smoke alarms in or near all bedrooms.
Test your smoke alarms every month.
Change your smoke alarms' batteries once a year.
Have an escape plan and practice, practice, practice.
If you must escape through smoke, crawl low under the smoke to your exit.
Know your local emergency numbers, and be prepared to dial 911 when necessary.
