Emergency Services:
What to expect during your visit

What happens while I am being treated?

You will receive a preliminary evaluation by one of our emergency department nurses. This will include questions regarding any current medications you may be on, your medical history and any drug allergies you may have.

Please be aware that we screen all patients for domestic violence, smoking, alcohol and drug use. Referrals are provided if you feel you need assistance with any of these problems.

You will then be seen by one of our board certified emergency medicine physicians or a physician assistant. He or she will assess your condition, discuss it with you, and make recommendations for your best course of treatment. Occasionally, diagnostic tests may be ordered or a specialist may be called in to participate in your care.
