What to expect during your visit
How will I be billed for my visit?
Most health insurance companies cover the cost of treatment in
the emergency department. Once we have your complete billing information,
we will submit a claim to your insurance company.
Please be aware that there are additional charges for physician
services, x-rays, medications, laboratory tests, and so forth. Radiologists
and specialists who are asked to consult about your care also bill
separately for their services. These charges may or may not be covered
by your insurance carrier.
If you have any questions regarding your hospital bill, please
call patient financial services at 401-444-6966.
If you are not insured or are insured for only part of your
expenses, please make payment arrangements before leaving the hospital.
Depending on your financial situation, you may be eligible for financial
assistance. Please ask our registration department for assistance.
Lifespan hospitals treat all people who need care, regardless of
ability to pay.
