Corporate Policies:
Sexual Harassment
It is the policy of Lifespan to provide a positive discrimination-free
work environment for all employees. Sexual harassment is unlawful, discriminatory,
and unacceptable conduct, which will not be tolerated in the workplace,
during the course of employment, and at all Lifespan-sponsored events.
Sexual harassment in the workplace is a form of sex discrimination prohibited
by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission Guidelines require employees to affirmatively address the issue
of sexual harassment and to adopt procedures for the prompt resolution
of employee complaints.
- All members of the Lifespan organization share responsibility for
avoiding, discouraging, and reporting any form of sexual harassment.
- Lifespan will take prompt preventative, investigatory and/or, corrective
action when a complaint of sexual harassment is made.
- Sexual harassment by a non-employee is also subject to review and
action by management.
- Members of the Lifespan organization found in violation of this policy
may be disciplined, up to and including being discharged for cause.
