Mindfulness is about living with awareness. It is about being present for each moment of our lives.

What makes this program unique?

Mindfulness means being aware of what is going on—in your body, your mind, your emotions and your life. Mindfulness meditation is about paying attention in a certain way—without judgment, in the present moment.

The foundation of this program is training in mindfulness and moment-to-moment awareness in daily life. It is based on the widely acclaimed program at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D.

It is designed to help you to recognize and mobilize your inner psychological resources for improving health and well-being, for taking better care of yourself, and for learning to respond, rather than react, to the stresses of living.

The program has the capacity to enrich the totality of your experience as a human being while enabling you to confront stress, pain, illness and everyday life in more creative and health-promoting ways.

Research shows that mindfulness based stress reduction techniques such as these have helped people to:

  • Experience renewed energy and vitality
  • Decrease stress levels
  • Improve flexibility of body and mind
  • Achieve deep states of relaxation
  • Increase awareness
  • Improve work and academic performance
  • Decrease anxiety and hostility levels
  • Learn how to handle tension and discomfort
  • Prioritize what is most important in life

The program is designed as an educational experience. It is not medical or psychological treatment.
