People experiencing a variety of medical, psychological or personal challenges, such as:

  • Family, job or life stress
  • Heart disease
  • Hypertension
  • Anxiety and/or depression
  • Fatigue
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Chronic pain
  • Asthma, breathing problems
  • Headache
  • Fibromyalgia
  • GI distress
  • HIV and AIDS

The program is appropriate for those who wish to maintain good health, and for anyone wanting to complement and enhance their health care by doing something positive for themselves.

Program description

As a participant in this program, you will be asked to practice mindfulness for about 30 to 45 minutes daily, guided by audio CDs. You will also receive a workbook.

You will meet for two hours once a week for eight weeks, and for one full-day session in the sixth week. There will be a group orientation meeting prior to the program start.

In each class, periods of quiet, guided meditation will be interspersed with instruction and discussion and will sometimes include guided gentle stretching and breathing exercises. You will be asked to be attentive to and honor the requirements and limits of your own body.

The cost of the program is $375.
