  • Our team of care providers come together to meet the unique needs of each child in our care. Our medical staff includes two board certified pediatric nephrologists and a pediatric renal dietitian. All of our nephrologists are experienced in pediatric renal transplantation.

    M. Khurram Faizan, MD, FAAP
    Pediatric Nephrologist, Hasbro Children's Hospital
    Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Clinical), The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University

    M. Khurram Faizan, MD, FAAP, is a pediatric nephrologist and the director of the division of pediatric nephrology and hypertension. He has served on our staff as a pediatric nephrologist since 2005 and is an associate professor of pediatrics (clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Faizan earned bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Faizan completed his clinical fellowship in pediatric nephrology at the University of Washington and the Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, where he received the National Kidney Foundation and American Society of Transplantation fellowship research award. He completed his pediatric residency at Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. His research interests include the relationship between blood pressure, childhood obesity and microalbuminuria, and the role of novel therapies for the treatment of focal sclerosis.

    Robin Kremsdorf, MD
    Pediatric Nephrologist, Hasbro Children's Hospital
    Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinical), The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University

    Robin Kremsdorf, MD, received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and a nephrology fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Kremsdorf is also an assistant professor of pediatrics (clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology and the American Society of Nephrology. She is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.

    Courtney Huard, MS, RD, LDN
    Pediatric Renal Dietitian, Hasbro Children's Hospital  

    Courtney Huard, MS, RD, LDN is a pediatric renal dietitian. Since 2005 she has worked in inpatient and outpatient care for various pediatric services, including nephrology, gastroenterology, the partial hospital program and the CHANGES program. She has worked with Hasbro Children’s Hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit for five years, and has expertise in the ketogenic diet. Recently she changed focus and now works for the hospital’s early intervention program and Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension Clinic.

    Huard received her master of science in nutrition from the University of Rhode Island, and completed her training as a dietetic intern at Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Her research focused on evaluating a non-diet approach to weight management in college students.

    Lisa O'Neil, RN
    Pediatric Renal Nurse, Hasbro Children's Hospital

    Lisa O'Neil, RN, is a pediatric renal nurse in the division of pediatric nephrology and hypertension at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. She has 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, including six years of inpatient nursing and subsequently in all aspects of ambulatory care. She also has experience working with adults and children at Thundermist Health Center and The Miriam Hospital. She earned her associate of science in nursing from Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick, Rhode Island.

     

    Barbara Leclerc
    Office Assistant

    Barbara Leclerc is the primary contact for the division of pediatric nephrology and hypertension. In addition to managing the division’s daily business operation, she schedules patients for the pediatric nephrology and hypertension clinic. Leclerc also runs the Pediatric Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) Program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
