Carol L. Lamoureux, RN, MSN, NEA-BC is the director of the Center for Professional Practice Development and reports to the senior vice president for patient care services at The Miriam. She obtained her BSN from Salve Regina University in 1974 and in 1978 earned her master's of science degree in medical/surgical teaching from Boston College. Her experience spans 33 years of professional practice which includes such roles as ICU staff nurse, ICU assistant and head nurse, critical care educator, adjunct clinical faculty, director of inpatient nursing and interim director for emergency nursing and respiratory care.
In 1992 Lamoureux was honored with the hospital's Quality Manager of the Year. She established the structure and process of the first evidence-based, best practices committee and hired and directed the department's first nurse researcher. Lamoureux is instrumental in the department's participation in the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators.
