Healthy Serving:
Lite & Healthy Pizza Dough
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups – whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup – bleached, all-purpose, enriched flour
- 1 packet – baker’s dry, active yeast
- 1/2 tsp. – table salt
- 1/4 tsp. – sugar
- 3/4 cups – water
- 1/4 tsp. – extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup – flax seeds
Directions:
Place flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a bowl and stir together. Gradually add water and knead and kneed with your hands until smooth. Add oil and flax seed and continue to kneed for approximately 7 minutes.
Spray a clean bowl with cooking spray. Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 2 hours.
After the dough has doubled in size, punch the dough down and allow rising once more. Remove dough from bowl, cut into 2 equal pieces, and form into balls.
