Patricia Cristofaro, MD is an attending physician of infectious diseases and medicine at the Providence VA Medical Center. She is also an assistant professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Cristofaro works with Steven Opal, MD in the fields of septic shock research, endotoxin, cytokines, molecular signaling pathways and the pathophysiology of septic shock. Previously, she worked with Bharat Ramratnam, MD on engineering mucosal gene responses with siRNA. As a fellow, she was a subinvestigator in the Phase III MBI gel study under Leonard Mermel, MD.
Cristofaro has published over one dozen research and review articles and is a member of American Society of Microbiology.
