e-Prescribing

Lifespan was one of the first organizations in the United States to pilot e-prescribing, the process of electronically transmitting prescription orders to area pharmacies.

Available in outpatient clinics at Lifespan’s hospitals, e-prescribing reduces the chance of a prescription being misread and is more convenient for patients. Physicians can access electronic prescription software from workstations in the hospitals or from any computer hooked into the Internet.
