East Bay Pandemic Flu DrillThank you to all of our volunteers who assisted in the East Bay Pandemic Flu Drill on August 2, 2008. The day was a great success. Over 125 volunteers participated from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. as we mobilized the opening of an alternate care site at East Providence High School. Volunteers took part in the set up, operations and break down of the entire site. Some volunteers acted as patients and/or observers for the alternate care site. The enthusiasm of and hard work of our volunteers paid off in a successful functional exercise of how to care for flu patients in a disaster such as a Pandemic Flu. Once again, many thanks to our volunteers for their donation of time and energy to this critical event. |
