About The Baxts
Victor and Gussie Baxt are long-time friends and supporters of The Miriam Hospital.
Victor has served the hospital tirelessly since 1971. He has been active as a trustee on both the foundation and hospital boards. There is scarcely a committee he hasn’t served on or chaired. He was a member of the Chairmen’s Committee, Investment Committee, Corporation Reorganization Committee and Medical Matters Committee. It was not unusual for him to chair two committees at the same time. In honor of his tireless support of The Miriam Victor was named the hospital's Person of the Year in 2006.
Victor’s wife, Gussie Baxt, has also long supported the hospital. She is an active member of The Miriam’s Women’s Association and has served on the hospital’s gala committee for many years.
The Baxts recently made hospital history by giving the largest donation ever to The Miriam Hospital Foundation. The gift of $5 million is the culmination of a lifetime of support from the couple, who have given much of themselves, their time and attention to The Miriam Hospital.
