Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services
Cardiac arrhythmias include a variety of conditions that result in abnormalities of the electrical activity of the heart. The Miriam Hospital and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University offers an experienced team of arrhythmia experts, led by an internationally recognized leader in electrophysiology.
The arrhythmia team works with referring physicians and patients’ families to ensure effective patient care. They perform detailed diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that are designed to cure the problem, not just treat the symptoms. The staff includes board-certified electrophysiologists, additional pacemaker and defibrillator implant physicians and a team of cardiac nurses and fellows.
The department offers consultative services on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The electrophysiology laboratory will undergo a significant expansion to better serve our patients with the opening of a clinical cardiac electrophysiology laboratory in 2007.
