Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The Miriam Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital are the state’s first facilities
to offer cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Our Symphony MRI scanners are among the most sophisticated available and can provide critical information on a variety of cardiac conditions, including unusual congenital cardiac anomalies and cardiac tumors. These scanners allow us to detect even the smallest of changes in the body’s tissues due to disease – even before symptoms are present.

New advances in MRI permit high resolution, 3-dimensional imaging of
the beating heart, yielding unparalleled assessment of cardiac function
and disease detection. MRI can help accurately detect heart conditions
earlier, giving patients better options.
