Awards and Recognition

  • Dennis Sewchuk, RN, CNOR, Clinical Instructor for Surgical Services, won an award in the Education category of the 2005 AORN Journal Writers Contest for his article entitled, “Experiential Learning — A Theoretical Framework for Perioperative Education.” Dennis, who was invited to the 53rd AORN Congress in Washington, DC, on March 19, 2006, received the award in person. All 2005 Journal articles eligible for the Writers Contest were evaluated by the Journal Review Panel members, who based their reviews on such criteria as content, editorial quality, relevance to perioperative practices and patient care and use of visual materials.
