Nursing at The Miriam Hospital
Welcome
Hello.
I'm Rebecca Burke, RN, vice president for patient care services
and chief nursing officer of The Miriam Hospital in Providence,
Rhode Island. Welcome to our web site.
The Miriam Hospital nursing department first achieved the prestigious
Magnet Recognition for Excellence in Nursing Practice in 1998. We
did it again in 2002 and 2006.
We were able to achieve this recognition because of our commitment
and focus on professional nursing practice at the bedside. Nurses
at TMH have enjoyed a long and credible reputation in the community
for excellent nursing practice and the standards of the Magnet program
have helped us maintain and sustain that reputation.
We hope the information in this web site will help you understand
what we are all about. The site has been designed to inform you
about our programs and professional opportunities. We have provided
you with information about our nursing philosophy
and more about Magnet status and what it
means to be a professional nurse at The Miriam.
Once you have reviewed this information, we welcome you to call
us and talk to us about our professional work environment and inquire
as to how we can help you nurture and develop your career.
