Joseph F. Renzulli, II, MD, of Saunderstown, RI, is a board certified urologist and partner in University Urological Associates, Inc. He is an assistant clinical professor of surgery (urology) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is on the surgical staff of The Miriam and Rhode Island hospitals.
Renzulli is a native of Warwick, Rhode Island and received his medical degree from Boston University. He completed his residency in general and urological surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He has specialty training in urologic oncology, laparoscopy, robotic surgery and incontinence. He is a certified robotic surgeon and a member of the prestigious national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He has performed over 200 robotic procedures.
Current research interests include the affects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy prior to prostatectomy for high risk prostate cancer and mRNA transfer via microvesicles in prostate cancer. Renzulli has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national and local meetings.
In 2006, Renzulli was proud to be a part of the team that performed the first robotic prostatectomy at The Miriam Hospital.
