Alyson McGregor, MD is an emergency medicine physician and an associate professor of emergency medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is co-founder and director of the Sex and Gender in Emergency Medicine (SGEM) program in Brown University's department of emergency medicine. She also serves as director for the SGEM fellowship.
Dr. McGregor is the author of Sex Matters: How Male-Centric Medicine Endangers Women's Health and What We Can Do About It.
McGregor received her medical degree from Boston University and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Brown University. She is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, executive board member of the Sex and Gender Women’s Health Collaborative (SGWHC), and past president of the Rhode Island Medical Women’s Association. Her clinical and research interests include evaluating gender differences in emergency medicine and women’s health
