Critical Care Nursing Internships

Our Values

Through its unyielding pursuit of excellence in service, education, research, technology and information, Rhode Island Hospital is recognized regionally and nationally for the clinical expertise provided through its centers of excellence.

The Critical Care Internship is a unique opportunity for the novice registered nurse to transition from graduating nursing school to beginning your professional career on an ICU or Step Down Unit. The program is designed to include class time each week in addition to hands-on unit orientation.  The classroom includes guest lectures, computer modules and provides a safe time and place to de-brief and share experiences from the floor. Clinical orientation, with an experienced preceptor, will facilitate your professional growth and education while helping you to develop the skills you need to care for critically ill patients. Rhode Island Hospital critical care nurse interns qualify for entry-level registered nurse salaries and benefits while receiving on-the-job experience.

We encourage you to take the opportunity to begin your career with the exceptional team at Rhode Island Hospital. We look forward to your successful participation in the program and hope that it will serve as a foundation to meet and exceed your career expectations.
