Behavioral Health Specialist Training Program

Each year thousands of children and adults are the beneficiaries of the services provided within Lifespan’s inpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential programs through Bradley Hospital and Gateway Healthcare. With the continual need for trained behavioral health specialists, the two partner hospitals of Lifespan are coming together to provide the Behavioral Health Specialist Training program.

About the Behavioral Health Specialist Training Program

The Behavioral Health Specialist Training Program is a collaboration among agencies who strive to provide high quality, no cost training to individuals looking to enter the field of mental health care.

The partnership among Bradley Hospital, Rhode Island College, Lifespan Workforce Development, and Real Jobs Rhode Island provides training, valuable nationally recognized certifications, internships, and ultimately jobs to qualified and committed individuals. Some of our programs even offer college credit.

The next training session is set to begin in October 2020 and a second training session is scheduled for January 2021. We are particularly interested in recruiting individuals who have a desire to work with children and adolescents and have been displaced from their jobs by the Covid-19 pandemic. Of course, anyone interested in entering the behavioral health treatment field is welcome.
