Breastfeeding Medicine Program Team

Dr. Bilodeau and Chelsea Shea work in collaboration with a team of specialists, including obstetricians, endocrinologists, breast health providers, behavioral medicine providers, nutritionists, and physical therapists to address each patient’s  individual needs.

Attending Physician

Courtney Bilodeau, MD, FACP, CLC, is an attending physician in obstetric medicine at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative. She is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is board certified in internal medicine and is a certified lactation counselor. Her clinical and research interests include breastfeeding, evidence-based complementary medicine, and peripartum management of chronic medical conditions from preconception through postpartum.

Dr. Bilodeau received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School, completed her residency in internal medicine at Rhode Island Hospital/The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and completed a fellowship in obstetric and consultative medicine at Women & Infants Hospital/The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Rhode Island Medical Society, the North American Society of Obstetric Medicine, the International Society of Obstetric Medicine, and The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.

Chelsea Shea, CNM, WHNP-BC, CLC
Certified Nurse Midwife

Chelsea Shea is a certified nurse midwife with Ob-Gyn Associates. She is board certified in women’s health and is a certified lactation counselor.
