Fitness for All at the Center for Weight and Wellness (CWW) offers a variety of specialty classes designed for all ages and fitness levels. These small classes are taught by experienced exercise physiologists and health educators. Whether you are nearing the end of your weight management program or just beginning your journey to health, you can find a class suited to your interests, age, schedule and ability.

Classes are available at our Providence and East Greenwich locations.

Fitness for All Exercise Classes

Fitness for All at the CWW provides a range of exercise class options for different fitness levels and abilities.

Fitness Levels

  • Level 1 (Beginner): Intended for those who can participate in low impact/chair based exercise, and who may have joint/orthopedic limitations.
  • Level 2 (Moderate): intended for those who have some exercise experience and who have no major medical or joint issues.
  • Level 3 (Challenging): intended for those who have a regular exercise routine, are at the Masters level or nearing the end of treatment, and have no major medical or joint issues.

Fitness Classes

Please wear comfortable exercise clothes and shoes to all classes.


Need some motivation or instruction on how to start a walking or jogging routine? Come walk or jog with fellow CWW members and an exercise physiologist. The supervised group meets at Lippitt Park, adjacent to Blackstone Boulevard in Providence. Total class time is 60 minutes, including warm-up and cool-down. Set a goal to walk or jog a 5K this spring or summer!

Levels 1, 2, 3

Dyna-Band Dynamics

Develop bone health using Dyna-Bands. This class is designed to help increase full-body muscular endurance. The class involves small and steady movements using body weight and resistance bands. If you want to tone, sculpt and define your muscles, then this is the class for you!

Levels 2, 3

Forever Fit

This class uses your own body weight as resistance. No fancy equipment is necessary, which means you can learn these exercises and do them at home for added benefit. Exercises include wall push-ups, chair squats, standing inner and outer thigh work, marching in place, and more. Learn how you can be forever fit!

Levels 1, 2, 3

30-Minute Abs and Back

This class features intense core work. You will learn how to strengthen your abdominals and back as well as stretch your hamstrings. Benefits can include good back health, improvements in posture and a flat belly. It’s a great way to fit a quick but challenging workout into your busy day.

Chair Yoga

Adapt yoga to enrich your life! Participants perform yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation (Dhyana), and deep relaxation (Savasana), with the aid of a chair and without having to get up or down from the floor. Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, and range of motion.

Level 1, 2

Hatha Yoga

Learn basic yoga poses with a focus on form, breath and ease of movement. Blocks and straps are used to assist with alignment. Expect to learn standing, balancing and twisting poses (asanas), along with seated floor and supine poses. Participants will need to bring a yoga mat.

Levels 2, 3

Tai Chi Flow

Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that is practiced today as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. This is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.

Levels 1, 2, 3

Move It to Lose It

This aerobics class puts it all together: a warm-up, a cardiovascular session, and a cool-down. The instructor uses fun, upbeat music and intermittent rest periods with the goal of reaching your target heart rate for maximum benefit. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when done.

Levels 2, 3

20/20/20 Mixed Class

This class is a combination of 20 minutes of cardio training, 20 minutes of weight training, and 20 minutes of core work. Challenge yourself with a class that has it all. Participants will receive a one-on-one training session and the support of a group setting.
