The Mood Disorders Program at Rhode Island Hospital is dedicated to studying, evaluating and treating mood disorders such as major depression, chronic major depression, and bipolar disorder. Our clinic treats all forms of mood disorders, including those that have not responded well to treatment in the past. We coordinate care with other health care providers, and seek to provide comprehensive mental health care.

Our approach emphasizes living as fully as possible, even in the presence of unremitting symptoms. We focus not only on symptoms, but also on quality of life, relationships, and meaningful life goals. We welcome input from families and significant others and encourage their involvement in treatment.
