Meet Our Team
Syed Rizvi, MD, is the director of the Rhode Island Hospital Multiple Sclerosis Center and an associate professor of clinical neurosciences at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is board certified in psychiatry and neurology, and is the chairman of the Clinical Advisory Committee of the Rhode Island chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Rizvi has participated as a principal investigator in numerous multiple sclerosis (MS) clinical trials and has published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals. He is co-editor of the book MS and Related Disorders.
Rizvi received his medical degree in Karachi, Pakistan, followed by a residency in both internal medicine and neurology at Stony Brook University Hospital. He also completed one year of chief residency in internal medicine followed by a year of fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. He has served as the director of the MS Center since 2002.
Jonathan Cahill, MD, is a board certified neurologist at the Rhode Island Hospital Multiple Sclerosis Center. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed an internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University. He completed a fellowship in neuroimmunology at the University of Massachusetts in 2011, and joined the staff at the Rhode Island Hospital Multiple Sclerosis Center that year. He is an assistant professor of neurology (clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is a member of the board of trustees for the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
