Our sports medicine physicians understand how important it is for you to regain function and strength as quickly as possible. When appropriate, we treat disorders with conservative measures—such as physical therapy, anti-inflammatory injections, or braces—before recommending surgery.

If nonsurgical treatments do not relieve your pain and restore your function, our highly skilled surgeons will work with you to plan the best treatment based on your particular needs and condition.

Whether as a first course of action or following surgery, the therapists of the award-winning Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center at Newport Hospital will work with you towards the best possible recovery. Your physician may prescribe aquatic therapy in addition to traditional exercises. The Vanderbilt center offers aquatic physical therapy in a heated saltwater pool through a partnership with St. Clare-Newport, a long-term care residence and rehabilitation facility.

Our aim is to restore you to top performance in your daily life and in your sporting activities.
