Pediatric General Hematology Program

Our team of highly skilled specialists provides comprehensive care and innovative treatments to pediatric and young adult patients with blood disorders or cancer. An individual treatment plan is recommended for each patient. Our multidisciplinary team is determined to help our patients lead fulfilling lives.

Pediatric Leukemia/Lymphoma Services

From initial diagnosis through survivorship, children and adolescents with leukemia or lymphoma receive comprehensive, state-of-the-art care. Access to cutting-edge therapeutic protocols and new medications is available to our patients by participation in Children's Oncology Group and Dana Farber Leukemia Consortium treatment studies. Families may also participate in Hasbro Children's Hospital-initiated clinical trials.

Pediatric Neuro-Oncology

Specialists in pediatric neuro-oncology, pediatric neurosurgeons and pediatric radiation oncologists work together to diagnose and treat our patients with brain tumors.

Pediatric Solid Tumors

Our patients benefit from a multidisciplinary team with broad expertise, including pediatric oncologists, orthopedic oncologists, pediatric surgeons, radiation oncologists, pediatric radiologists and pathologists with expertise in sarcomas and special expertise in rehabilitation by physical therapists.

Adolescent Menstrual and Hematologic Disorders Program

Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Tomorrow Fund Clinic have established a combined Pediatric Hematology and Adolescent Medicine Clinic to help evaluate and treat young people with heavy periods. Our experts in pediatric hematology, adolescent medicine, nursing, and social work, all work together to evaluate and treat patients. Bleeding Disorders: Hemophilia and Hemostasis Program

The Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center is a federally funded comprehensive center for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients with hemophilia, other bleeding disorders and thrombotic disorders. Our team includes physicians, nurses, physical therapists and a clinical social worker and counselor, providing the highest quality of care through a multidisciplinary approach to health and well-being. More about the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center at Rhode Island Hospital

Hematology: Hemoglobinopathy Service (Sickle Cell Disease, Thalassemias)

The Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Program provides comprehensive care for children with hemoglobinopathies. Both outpatient and inpatient care are available in a supportive, respectful atmosphere. Our team often meets the family at birth (or even sooner, with prenatal diagnosis) and provides care into adulthood. Multidisciplinary care is carefully coordinated among the families, schools, physicians and nurses with many different areas of expertise.
