What to Expect when Visiting the Interstitial Lung Disease Center

All patients seen in the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Center undergo a thorough evaluation for their condition, including a detailed medical history and physical exam performed by one of our pulmonologists, pulmonary function testing, and an extensive panel of laboratory tests to look for known causes of ILD.

Additional services offered when indicated include:

• High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) of the chest
• 6-minute walk distance (6MWD) 
• Echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound)
• Right heart catheterization  
• Bronchoscopy with and without lung biopsy
• Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lung biopsy
• Pulmonary rehabilitation
