Alyson McGregor, MD
Attending Physician

Alyson McGregor, MD is an attending physician at Rhode Island Hospital, an associate professor of emergency medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and co-founder and director of SGEM in Brown University's department of emergency medicine. She also serves as director for the SGEM fellowship.

McGregor received her medical degree from Boston University and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Brown University. She is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, executive board member of the Sex and Gender Women’s Health Collaborative (SGWHC), and past president of the Rhode Island Medical Women’s Association. Her clinical and research interests include evaluating gender differences in emergency medicine and women’s health

Tracy Madsen, MD, ScM
Emergency Medicine Physician

Tracy Madsen, MD, ScM is an emergency medicine physician at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital and an assistant professor of emergency medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is a founding member of the Division of Sex and Gender in Emergency Medicine, was the first fellowship graduate of the program, and is now serving as the associate director for the division.  

Dr. Madsen completed both her undergraduate and medical degrees at Boston University before coming to Providence to complete a residency in Emergency Medicine. Following residency, Dr. Madsen completed a 2-year research fellowship with a focus on sex and gender differences in acute aspects of disease and earned a master's degree in clinical and translational research. Dr. Madsen’s research has focused on the investigation of sex and gender differences in acute conditions including stroke and sepsis.
