Health Is More than Healthcare: An Overview of the RI Life Index and 2022 Findings

The RI Life Index, a partnership between Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island and the Brown University School of Public Health, measures Rhode Islanders’ perceptions of social determinants of health and well-being.

Melissa A. Clark, PhD, will provide an introduction to the RI Life Index, the publicly available data that includes trends in factors beyond healthcare including food, housing, community resources, and other social determinants that impact Rhode Islanders’ ability to live healthy lives.

Melissa A. Clark, PhD, is a professor in the departments of Health Services Policy & Practice and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brown University School of Public Health.
