Newport Hospital, in collaboration with The Gruben Charitable Foundation and Salve Regina University will present a free behavioral health workshop, “Innovations in Addiction Treatment: Epidemiology and Etiology of Internet Behaviors.” 

The featured speaker will be David Greenfield, PhD, MSCP, founder and medical director of the Center for Internet and Technology Addiction and assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. During this workshop, Dr. Greenfield will discuss issues associated with internet addiction and internet use disorder. He will discuss aspects of the internet and smartphone and how the unique characteristics of these mediums promote mood altering behaviors such as compulsive use and addictive patterns.
