Steering Committee and Rounds
Patient and Family Centered Care Steering Committee
Our multidisciplinary patient and family centered care steering committee includes representatives from several hospital departments, as well as family advisors. These family advisors are the parents of children who are or had been in treatment at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
The steering committee meets quarterly to address any relevant practice and policy issues at all levels of the system. Examples of Patient and family centered care initiatives include the practice of patient and family centered care rounds and family activated FAST teams.
Patient and Family Centered Care Rounds
Patient and family centered care rounds provide an opportunity for health care team members, patients and parents to partner on a daily basis on treatment decisions. The focus of these inquiry rounds is discuss the patient’s medical status, the goals of hospitalization and the criteria for discharge.
