The Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Miriam Hospital to Hold Men’s Cancer Wellness Group Session Jan. 18
What: The Men’s Cancer Wellness Group is a forum for men who have been diagnosed with prostate, bladder, testicular, penile or renal cancers. It provides an opportunity to learn about treatment options and coping mechanisms for everyday life.
Facilitated by Kathy Higginbotham, LICSW, the group is intended to be a psychosocial support for participants, as well as an educational meeting – providing a comfortable peer setting for discussion, education and support through the treatment and recovery process.
Each month, a group speaker leads a discussion on a relevant topic. The Jan. 18 session will be led by John Wincze, PhD, associate director of The Men’s Health Center at The Miriam Hospital, who will be discussing intimacy and sexuality among men with cancer.
When: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
