Dr. Fridley joins Comprehensive Spine Center

November 6, 2017

Jared Fridley, M.D., a board-certified neurosurgeon, recently joined the expert team at Lifespan’s Comprehensive Spine Center, located at Rhode Island Hospital and now Newport Hospital.

Fridley, whose subspecialty is complex spinal surgery, is an assistant professor and director of the Spine Surgery Outcomes Laboratory at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

“The Comprehensive Spine Center offers a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to spinal care that was very appealing to me. By offering personalized care, both medical and surgical, optimal patient clinical outcomes can be achieved,” Fridley said.
Fridley earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, followed by a residency at Baylor and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He completed his neurosurgery fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital.

Fridley is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons. His expertise encompasses degenerative spinal disease, spinal trauma, tumors and deformities, and peripheral nerve surgery. His research interests include spinal surgery outcomes and spinal cord injury.

He said he is pleased that residents of Aquidneck Island and South County now have easy access to the service provided by the Comprehensive Spine Center at Newport Hospital, which opened in October. “The new Spine Center location in Newport allows patients in the region to receive comprehensive, quality, and state-of-the-art spinal care without the added stress of having to travel far away from home.”
