On Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Newport Hospital will offer the free community lecture, “Holiday Stress Busters.” Clinical psychologist Jon Brett, PhD, and certified hypnotherapist Suzi Nance will lead a lively, empowering, interactive workshop aimed at decreasing stress and increasing enjoyment of the holidays.

“The heightened demands and hecticness of the holiday season can often trigger higher stress levels and feelings of depression, but there are steps you can take to manage those unwanted feelings so that you can anticipate and even enjoy the holidays, not dread them,” said Brett.

Now in its second year, the Newport Hospital free lecture series offers the community a firsthand opportunity to learn more about various health issues. The lecture on Nov. 2 will be held in Newport Hospital’s Hill Courtyard, just off the main lobby of the hospital at 11 Friendship Street, Newport. Parking is free and valet parking is available. Registration is not required, but seating is limited. To reserve a seat, call 401-845-1492 or sign up online at www.newporthospital.org.
