Lifestyle Changes Can Make a Difference Following a Stroke
Newport Hospital will offer a community lecture about coping with life after a stroke on Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Facilitated by physiatrists Mustapha Kemal, MD, and Josef Fields, DO, “Living Well After A Stroke” will address positive lifestyle changes and habits recommended for stroke survivors.
“Recovering after a stroke touches on so many aspects of a person’s life – ranging from the medical to the emotional,” said Kemal. “By adopting a series of specific lifestyle changes and healthy habits, patients are better able to cope with and successfully manage life after a stroke.”
This is the latest in a series of community lectures Newport Hospital launched in January as an educational tool and opportunity for the public to interact with hospital clinicians. The Nov. 11 lecture will be held in Newport Hospital’s Gudoian Conference Room, just off the main lobby of the hospital at 11 Friendship Street, Newport. No registration is required, but seating is limited. To reserve a seat, call 401-845-1492 or sign up online at www.newporthospital.org.
